Choosing a good photo
This is the most important step as it makes a BIG difference to the finished artwork.
All the examples you see on our website have been made with good quality photos.
The perfect photo would be a bright and clear headshot.
Using a phone to take the picture is absolutely fine. The background behind the pet doesn’t matter.
If after looking at the guide you are not sure your image will work well get in touch. We understand is not always possible to take more pictures.
- Bright natural light
- Taken at your pet’s eye level
- Pet is facing the camera or slightly to one side
- Clear headshot showing head neck and chest
- Ears are not cropped
- Sharp image, not blurry
- Dark or blurry pictures
- Photos taken from above
- Photos taken from far away
- Screenshots (quality gets reduced)
- Bad pose (ie laying down, can’t see full face or neck)
- Cropped (missing ears or top of the head)
